Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
This policy explains how Top10AIs handles information in connection with top10ais.com. Top10AIs publishes editorial rankings and commentary about AI tools. For privacy questions or requests, use our Contact and corrections form.
Information collected when you visit
Your browser sends technical information needed to deliver a website, including your IP address, requested page or file, browser information, and the time of the request. It may also send a referring page address. Our hosting infrastructure may keep access, error, and security logs containing this information to operate the site, diagnose problems, and prevent abuse. These infrastructure logs are separate from the reader reports described below.
You can read the site without registering. Public account registration and public comments are disabled. We do not currently offer a newsletter signup, checkout, or public file-upload form.
Reader reports and contact messages
If you use our contact form, we receive the Top10AIs page URL, the category selected, and your message. WordPress also records when the report was created or changed. Submitting a report is optional, but a valid Top10AIs page URL and a message are required to send one.
No name, email address, or account is required. Anything you voluntarily include in the message is stored with it, so please do not send passwords, payment details, private customer data, or other sensitive information.
Reports are stored privately in WordPress for authorized site administrators. We use them to assess corrections, source concerns, accessibility issues, suggestions, and privacy requests. They are not published as comments, and the form does not send email notifications or provide a direct reply. We may update an article in response to a report without publishing the original message or its personal details.
Spam prevention
The contact form uses a security token, an automated-submission check, and a submission limit. To apply that limit, it temporarily processes your connection IP address to generate a salted code that changes each hour. The code and a submission count are used for up to one hour. The form does not save your raw IP address in the report itself. Expired spam-control records may remain in the database until routine cleanup; hosting logs may separately contain IP addresses.
Cookies and browser storage
Our cookie notice uses GDPR Cookie Compliance by Moove to save your privacy preferences in a first-party cookie named moove_gdpr_popup for up to 180 days. This cookie stores cookie-category settings, is not used for advertising or analytics, and can be removed through your browser. Use the Cookie settings control to reopen the notice at any time. The current notice covers essential cookies only; acknowledging it does not authorize future analytics or advertising.
We do not currently use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or behavioral advertising cookies on the site. Our contact form does not set a tracking cookie.
WordPress uses necessary cookies on login and administration pages to test cookie support, maintain authorized login sessions, and remember language or interface preferences. These do not require ordinary readers to create an account. WordPress may also store an emoji-display compatibility result in your browser’s session storage and, when needed, request emoji images from WordPress.org infrastructure. Such external requests reveal technical connection information, such as your IP address, to the resource provider.
You can clear or block cookies and site storage through your browser. Blocking necessary cookies can prevent administrative sign-in or other features from working.
Google Search Console
We plan to use Google Search Console to understand how this site appears in Google Search and identify indexing or search-performance issues. Its reports provide grouped search metrics such as clicks, impressions, search queries, pages, countries, and device categories.
Search Console can verify a site using a DNS record or an HTML verification tag; it does not require us to install Google Analytics or a visitor-tracking script. Our planned Search Console use does not include those services. Google’s handling of information on its own services is explained in the Google Privacy Policy.
Links to other websites
Our articles link to tool providers, review sources, and other external sites. Some links may be affiliate links, as explained in our Affiliate disclosure. When you follow an external link, the destination or an affiliate intermediary may receive connection information and use its own cookies or tracking technologies. Its privacy policy applies to information collected there. Do not assume another site’s practices are the same as ours.
Access, sharing, and security
Information stored for the site can be processed by our hosting and technical service providers as needed to deliver, maintain, secure, or back up the site. Access to reader reports through WordPress is restricted to authorized administrators. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, security incidents, or legal claims. We do not sell contact-form submissions or use them for targeted advertising.
The site uses HTTPS, and reader reports are stored as private records. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
How long information is kept
Reader reports currently remain in the private administration area until an administrator deletes them; there is no automatic deletion schedule. Retention decisions take account of the issue raised, whether it remains unresolved, the need to keep an editorial correction record, and any applicable legal or security need. Deleted items may remain in WordPress Trash or backup copies until those are cleared or replaced. Hosting logs and infrastructure backups have separate retention settings; we do not promise a fixed period for those records.
Your choices and privacy requests
You may use the contact form to raise a privacy concern or request access, correction, or deletion of personal information you submitted. Select “Other feedback,” use the affected page URL (or the homepage for a general request), and begin the message with “Privacy request.” Include enough non-sensitive detail to locate the report, such as its approximate date and subject.
The form has no reply-address field and does not support direct replies. An anonymous request may limit our ability to identify the relevant information, verify a request, or communicate its outcome. Please do not send identity documents through the form.
Depending on the law that applies, you may also have rights to restrict processing, receive a portable copy of information, or complain to a data-protection authority. You may have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where a legal basis is required, our purposes are operating and securing the site and handling reader reports in our legitimate interests, or complying with applicable legal obligations. Rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions in the applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our data practices change and revise the date above. New analytics, advertising, account, or subscription features may require additional notices or choices before they are introduced.
